  • Getting Fit for the Fitness Trail

    Fri 28 Sep 2018

The school was a cyclone of colour and character today, as the children put on costumes or colourful clothes to participate in a fun run around the school field and the neighbouring sports club. The children all had a wonderful time and at the same time raised funds for the repair and maintenance of the fitness trail.

  • Music Pavilion Update

    Fri 28 Sep 2018

We are getting closer to the completion of our Music Pavilion now that the bi-fold doors have been installed. On Friday afternoon some filming was carried out by the company who have kindly donated the doors to the project. We are now looking forward to the installation of the Perspex rear wall, heating, storage areas and flooring which is due to happen at Half Term. To complete the project, the area around the pavilion will be landscaped, including the section of the KS 1 play area that has been affected by the work.

  • We’re pleased to tell you...

    Sun 16 Sep 2018

During the Summer Holiday, St John’s was a very busy place, preparing for the new school year. We are delighted to report that new flooring was put down in the Year 1 classroom, thanks to the generosity of our PA. This has made a tremendous difference to the learning environment which is greatly appreciated by staff and pupils. Thank you PA!

Throughout the summer, the Millennium Garden has been beautifully maintained by Mrs Bolton and members of the Lacey Green Horticultural Society. The watering rota has paid off and all the plants have survived the hot summer and are growing nicely. The children are now watching the pumpkins as they grow ready for Halloween. Grateful thanks to all those who helped to maintain the garden for us.

The new picnic benches, paid for by the PA and assembled by Mr Bundock, are now in place. They are made from recycled plastic and will hopefully last us for many years. You may also have noticed repairs have been made to the raised bed in the front playground and it is now looking very smart. Thank you Mr Bundock.

Work has continued on the Music Pavilion and it is now fully insulated with walls built and further work taking place on the roof. The bi-fold doors are due to be fitted soon. Unfortunately other work will have to take place during half term week but we are hoping that we will be able to use the building shortly after half term. Many thanks to Clem and her fantastic team of builders.

Behind the scenes, the 5-yearly electrical inspection has taken place, to ensure that the school is compliant and safe.

The PA are continuing their work to refurbish the Learning Mentor's Room. Painting is in progress and once the decorating has been completed, the flooring and furnishings will be added.
