  • Year 6 Games

    Wed 29 Jun 2016
Congratulations to all children who represented St John's at the Year 6 Games at Princes Risborough School on Tuesday.  Overall, they achieved 2nd place in the competition with first places in Tennis and Tag Rugby.

Many thanks to all staff who accompanied the team and to parents who supported the children.

  • Theme Week

    Tue 28 Jun 2016
We are taking the theme of '90 Years' to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Across the school, children are involved in cross curricula activities based on the theme and they have the opportunity to be creative in their work.

On Thursday, our final day, we have a Garden Party theme and we will be holding a special afternoon of events for the whole school. We will have a Street Party at lunch time and there will be a smart dress code on the day. Children (and staff) are asked to wear clothes suitable for meeting the Queen!

Thank you to all those parents who have supported this week and to the PA for helping with the organization on Thursday.

  • Multi Skills- Year 1 and 2

    Tue 21 Jun 2016
On Tuesday 21st June, eight children from year 1 and 2 attended a multi skills athletics afternoon at Princes Risborough Upper School.  Six schools all took part in various activities including sprinting, throwing and jumping.  They all improved their techniques and mixed with other schools.  The attitude and enjoyment was superb.  Well done to all.
  • Junior Athletics Championships

    Wed 08 Jun 2016
Three teams represented St John's at the Junior Athletics Competition organised by St Teresa's School. The Competition took place on Wednesday 8th June at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium with 26 teams taking part.

Overall we came in 12th place which was a good result for the team as, with our Year 6's away at Whitemoor Lakes, we had sent two year 5 teams and a Year 4 team.

All our children excelled themselves and there were some very good performances. Mary D, who was competing against Y6 children, came 1st in the 600m and 2nd in the Long Jump. James D, in Year 4, also gained 1st place in his 600m race. Finally our year 5 boys relay team of Jonny, Ethan, Henry and Nathan, were third in their event.

Many thanks to Mrs Bowden and Mrs Hodghton who organized the teams and to all those parents who supported the children on the day.
