  • "Puss in Boots" - Cast C

    Tue 19 Dec 2017

On Tuesday 19th December, the staff surprised the Key Stage 2 children with a special production of this year's pantomime "Puss in Boots".

The cast was lead by Miss Hughes (as Puss), Mrs Clark (as Nod) and Mrs Rodbourne as our storyteller.

The children all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the performance, joining in with the songs and dances.

  • RE Christmas Theme Day

    Mon 18 Dec 2017
All classes enjoyed learning about the true meaning of Christmas, during our Christmas Theme Day.  As part of the day, each class reflected on the deeper meaning of Christmas as well as interpreting these ideas through art, drama, dance and writing. The year 3 and 4 classes learned more about the Holy Trinity and plaited loaves using different flavoured dough. Our year 5 and 6 children looked into the meaning of Incarnation and its importance at Christmas. They also worked on ways to advertise the true meaning of Christmas, producing posters, presentations and cards.  Below you can see some of the children's work.
  • Hall Displays by Year 5

    Mon 18 Dec 2017
Year 5 children were responsible for creating our displays in the Hall, based on characters from our pantomime, Puss in Boots. The children worked cooperatively, in groups, to draw and then make  each figure. Below you can see the finished work.
  • Christmas Party Day

    Wed 13 Dec 2017

A very busy, but enjoyable day, for children, staff and parent helpers. Our Christmas Jumper fundraiser, for the children's chosen charity - the RNLI - was a great success, with every getting into the Christmas Spirit!

Throughout the day, the children enjoyed videos, party games and other festive activities. Staff and parent helpers decorated the hall and then helped to serve a tasty Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings, followed by a choice of Christmas Pudding, mince pie or fruit.

Many thanks to all staff and parents who helped to make the day such a successful one.

  • St John's Christmas Fayre

    Sat 02 Dec 2017

Our Christmas Fayre, on Friday, was a fantastic success. The Hall was filled with stalls selling gifts and crafts along with opportunities to try your luck at games and the raffle of Christmas Hampers. Year 6 children provided a range of games for everyone to try, some down to skill and some down to luck! This year, the Fayre spilled out into the playground with further stalls and activities. The highlight of the event was the visit from Father Christmas. He could be seen in his fantastic grotto where he was seen by a constant stream of children. Altogether a wonderful event which is sure to have raised much needed funds for our school.

Many thanks to the PA for organising the event and all those who contributed to a very successful and enjoyable day.

Our photographs show Santa's fantastic grotto and some of our Year 6 children with their games.
