  • Children In Need

    Mon 21 Nov 2016

On Friday 18th November we held a mufti day where the children were encouraged to "wear something spotty" for Children In Need.

We were very impressed by the creative spotty outfits and raised a grand total of £258.80!

We would like to say a big Thank You to all those who participated.

  • WOW Walk to School Challenge

    Thu 17 Nov 2016

Today, during assembly, we were visited by Amy Moore from Living Streets, who came in to launch a new initiative to encourage children to walk to school. Children are able to collect a different badge each month and to qualify need to walk to school at least 10 times. The project will run alongside our 'Go for Gold Scheme' which is organised by our JRSO's.

We hope that as many children as possible will take part in the project as we try to encourage them to become more active. Fewer cars at the school gate will also help to alleviate some of the congestion problems we have.

Every child has been given a badge to launch the project which will start on Monday and run for the rest of the school year. Parents will also receive a letter with further information.

  • Remembrance Day

    Fri 11 Nov 2016

Our lovely Remembrance Day Service today was led by Rev. Tony and included contributions of prayers from years 3 & 4 and readings from year 6. Children from the First School classes made beautiful wreaths which were laid together with a wreath from RAF High Wycombe. Even the smallest children observed the 2 minutes silence without a sound!

During Writing Journals, Jack wrote this poem which we would like to share with you:

    Jack’s Poem for Remembrance

Is it too much to ask to wear one small flower of red,

To remember the people who are now dead?

How many of your great grandfathers lived in the trench?

And not just the English, the Americans and French?

How many of you would go to the wars?

And when ready at the foes march forth?

Do you still think on the eleventh of the eleventh of the eleventh?

If so, I don’t think it is too much to ask to wear a flower of red,

To remember people who are now dead.

  • Autumn Theme Week

    Tue 01 Nov 2016

Our Autumn Theme Week started on Monday 31st October. During the week, the whole school was involved in a range of activities on the theme of BOOKS. Each class followed their own creative ideas and these were shared at the end of the week, when work was put on display in the hall for parents to view. The children have also shared their work at a whole school assembly.

Below you will see photographs of our year 5/6's who have been creating scrapbooks based on characters from different periods ranging from Victorian Times to the year 2116. We also have some photographs of our display of work. There have been some great examples of collaborative working and sharing of skills and some fantastic work has been produced.

See the Class Pages for more work from Theme Week.
