  • Reception - Tractor visit

Tue 31 Oct 2017 Mrs Crook

This week, as our theme week focus, Reception are looking at a David Hockney painting of a farm scene.

As part of their activities, this morning, Miss Bartlett brought her tractor in for the children to look at and have a turn sitting in. The children loved the experience and asked some fantastic questions. Thank you to Miss Bartlett for giving up her time to provide such an enjoyable experience for the children.

  • Theme Week - The artwork of David Hockney

    Mon 30 Oct 2017

Our Autumn Theme Week is based on the artwork of David Hockney. Each class has taken a different landscape picture as a stimulus for their work. The children are following different lines of enquiry and covering a number of curriculum areas in their work. Theme week gives the opportunity for children to contribute their own ideas and allows time to complete projects from start to finish within the week.

Below you can see the paintings chosen for each class.

Parents are invited to view a display of work on Monday 13th November.

  • Agents for Change Assembly

    Thu 19 Oct 2017

This morning's assembly was led by our Agents for Change, four Year 5 pupils who recently attended Anti Bullying training with our Learning Mentor, Mrs Clark. The children, who can be identified by their special badges, are ready to help other children with bullying issues and make links with staff.

Their presentation included a film about prejudice and disability, which engaged all pupils and we have provided a link for parents. See our Agents for Change page on the Children's Menu.

Thank you to our Agents for Change and Mrs Clark for attending the conference and for presenting this valuable assembly.

  • JRSO Conference

    Mon 16 Oct 2017

On Friday 13th October our JRSO's attended a Conference at the Multicultural Centre in Aylesbury. They joined JRSO's from other Buckinghamshire schools to learn more about the ways in which they could encourage children to be safe and healthy.

The children learned about road safety and were able to sit in the GIST lorry where they experienced the view that the driver would have. They could clearly see that the driver could not see pedestrians or cyclists who were close to the lorry. After their morning, the JRSO's came back with lots of ideas to promote road safety and will be leading an assembly after half term.

Thank you to our JRSO's and Mrs Buckle and Mrs Gulliver who attended the event. Mrs Gulliver, our Chair of Governors reported back that the children were fantastic representatives of the school who were praised for their work with the Go for Gold Scheme.

To find out more about the work of the JRSO's please see their page under the Children's menu.
